Forgive me blogsphere for I have sinned, its been three weeks since my last post!
Yes, I've been recovering from yet another back injury but hopefully its getting better soon. Theres just not much you can do when you are in that kind of pain - everything hurts! I've got to say though, maybe its just coincidence that she happened to be there every single time... but I'm sure that when my border collie Bella saw me in pain each time, she walked to me and stood there, solidly, while I grabbed hold of her and pulled myself up... she sensed what I needed and nursed me.
I'm convinced we have one of the smartest dogs around :) It just became a pattern, when she saw me grimace, she obliged. Maybe it was just for the squeeze and pat on the head afterwards but I'm convinced she didnt want me to grimace!
So anyway, heres a few things I've been looking forward to while I've been recovering:
First, we have an event coming up for C and his work. Its to be held at
Perth City Farm which is has a community garden, edible nursery, venue for hire, solar powered cafe, markets, music, workshops - and we will have cocktails, food and wine to celebrate the AILA WA awards (landscape architects institute).
I'm looking forward to seeing this venue and how they run something so sustainable and fun and funky smack bang in the city surrounded by concrete and scrapers.
.
And there is a Jeff Wall exhibition coming up at the The Art Gallery of WA - 26 May to 10 Sep
"Jeff Wall is recognised as one of the most innovative and influential artists
working today. His tableau-scale photographs are based on first hand
observations of everyday situations and incidents reconstructed by means of what
the artist calls a ‘cinematographic approach’. Their size and photographic
quality attract attention and offer the chance to revel in a near documentary
imaginative photographic moment"
Visit the AGWA site for more information
here.
Most of the photographs are of large scale - 2x3m. I'm especially looking forward to seeing this photograph - everything in this photo has been set up and placed just to create this image. Quite amazing.

Being bedridden for so long, makes me yearn for a laptop and i-Pad so bad! I never wanted to get either of them because I didnt want technology to follow me everywhere, but I'm starting to change my mind on that one.
